On September 27, 2023, the Center for Sociological and Political Science Research of the IAF RAS held a scientific conference on the topic: “Political Systems and Social Structures of African Countries: Current Problems and Vectors of Development.”
The conference was attended by researchers from the Institute of African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, TISBI University of Management, St. Petersburg State University, Institute of Workd History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, and others.
At the conference, 20 scientific reports were heard and discussed on the main trends in the political and sociocultural life of Africans. During the discussion at the conference, topics such as the characteristics of African political systems and political leadership, the activities of political parties and non-governmental organizations, electoral processes, and factors of political destabilization and conflict in Africa were discussed.
