Journal of the Institute for African Studies
A special place in the publishing activities of the Institute is occupied by the scholarly Journal of the Institute for African Studies, which is the only journal in Russia that is in its entirety devoted to Africa. The journal was founded by the Institute for African Studies primarily as a platform for publications by research fellows of the IAS, as well as by researchers of other academic and educational institutions of Russia and foreign countries. The Editor-in-Chief of the journal is Leonid Fituni, Deputy Director of the IAS. The editorial board includes prominent Russian and foreign scholars – Africanists and Orientalists. The journal publishes papers both by renowned scholars and young professionals who are taking their first steps in the field of African Studies. The scientific life of the Institute and its most significant events are also reflected on the pages of the journal.
