A serious struggle for influence in Africa is flaring up among the leading countries of the world, in order not to lose, Russia needs to show courage and assertiveness, says Director of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Irina Abramova. In an interview with RIA Novosti, she told why the African market is important for Russia, what methods the West uses in confronting Moscow on this continent, why cocoa is brought from Africa to us through Switzerland and Estonia, and how Russians and Africans are similar to each other.
