Since 2007 to present she works at the Centre for Studies of Russian-African Relations and Foreign Policy of African Countries of the Institute.
In 2011 defended PhD thesis “Great Britain’s policy in African countries under the Labour government of Tony Blair (1997 – 2007)”.
In 2012 Russian International Affairs Council published her first book titled «African Policy of Great Britain (1997 – 2012 гг.)” after she won the first prize in the contest “Global Perspectives” (organized by the RIAC) for best PhD thesis in international relations, defended in 2011. She had internships at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, London University), in 2010, and at the Nordic Africa Institute (Uppsala, Sweden, 2012). Has an experience of fieldwork in Africa.
Olga is the author of more than 90 academic publications, including in Russia’s leading peer-reviewed journals in her field. She actively participates in several grant research projects. Besides her own research activity, she serves as an academic consultant for Ph.D. students of the Institute, one of them already successfully defended his own PhD under her guidance.

She took part in the range of major international conferences devoted to African Studies; participated in organization of international conferences at the Institute.

Her main academic interests: African policy of the British “New Labour”; modern British policy towards Africa; the EU and Africa; Russian-African relations; peacebuilding and post-conflict reconstruction in Africa; EU and Britain’s development assistance; security – development nexus in EU-African relations.
