November 6-8, 2023, 2nd International Conference on Business Management and Economic Development

The 2nd International Conference on Business Management and Economic Development took place at Hotel Verde – Zanzibar on the 6th and 7th of November 2023. The focus of the conference was on Creativity, Innovation, and Investment for Economic Sustainability. The conference aimed to bring together scholars, experts, policymakers, and practitioners focused on addressing the multifaceted challenges and opportunities in business management and economic development within the context of developing countries and beyond. This conference served as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovative thinking to catalyze sustainable growth and prosperity in the African region and beyond. The developing countries in particular African countries have been making significant progress in business and economic development through creativity, innovation, and investment. These initiatives have led to business and economic transformation not only in Africa but across the globe.

President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, urged researches in the country to ensure they conduct productive research that will advise the government on improving the business environment and providing solutions to challenges faced by traders and citizens.
During the opening of the Conference, Vice President Hemed Suleiman Abdulla read President Dr. Mwinyi’s speech. He emphasized the collaboration between the government and experts to find sustainable solutions to existing challenges.

The Conference was attended by researcher at the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IAS RAS), chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the IAS RAS, Gleb Sugakov, who presented a paper on «The Blue Economy / Oceans Economy Concept: A View from Russia».

Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) currently operating seven campuses with approximately 26,000 students. In 2023, a partnership agreement was signed between the IAS RAS and the TIA, and now looking forward to further fruitful cooperation.
