The second edited volume “Africa and the Formation of a New System of International Relations” with subtitle “Beyond Summit Diplomacy: Cooperation with Africa in the Post-Pandemic World” was published by the international publishing house Springer.

The editors of the volume are Honorary President of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of History, Professor Alexey M. Vasiliev; Doctor of Political Sciences, Candidate of Economics, Professor, Leading Researcher at the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Denis A. Degterev and Professor Timothy M. Shaw.

Among the authors of the volume are leading scholars in African Studies from the Russian Federation, as well as Canada, Cameroon, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Nigeria, Turkey and the USA. Among the Russian authors are researchers of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences - Doctor of History Tatiana L. Deitch, Candidate of History Olga S. Kulkova, and Candidate of Political Sciences Sergey V. Kostelyanets.

Present volume consists of four sections: “African Agency in Post-Pandemic World”, “Great Powers Summits on Cooperation with Africa”, “Health Cooperation and Regional Initiatives in Africa” and “Conflicts and the Political Process Despite COVID Pandemics”. A wide range of issues related to the cooperation of extra-regional actors with the continent in the context of summit diplomacy, education, health and peacekeeping are presented.

The first edited volume with the subtitle “Rethinking the Concepts of Decolonization and Foreign Policy”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Year of Africa, was published in 2021 and today more than 12 thousand readers from all over the world have read it.
