Scientific project “The Development of African Countries and Peoples in a Cultural and Historical Context”

In 2019, the Center for History and Cultural Anthropology of the Institute began working on the three-year project (2019-2021): “The Development of African Countries and Peoples in a Cultural and Historical Context”. The managers of the project are corresponding member of the RAS, Dr. Sc.(Hist), Prof. D.M. Bondarenko and Dr. Sc.(Hist.) V.V Gribanova.

The scientific project is devoted to the African countries’ and peoples’ development studies; in particular, cultural and historical aspects from the point of modern scientific knowledge. It is expected to study such problems as the relations between Russia / USSR and countries of North Africa in the XVIII - XX centuries, the African diasporas outside the African continent (USA, India, countries of the New World), groups and practices of mutual assistance and self-organization in African countries, the history and modern development of certain groups of African society, the socio-political development of the Southern African countries, the development of mass media in Africa, Africa and globalization.
