Research interests: Islamism, Arab nationalism, Constitutional Development of Arab states, Islamic law, Political Development of Countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Horn of Africa, BRICS strategic communication and information security.

I am the author and editor of over 80 scientific papers, including the monograph The Struggle for Leadership in the Arab Region. Do Islamists have a Chance?" (2019); "The Battle for the Middle East: Regional Actors in the Context of the Reconfiguration of the Middle East Conflict" (2019), Modern Islamism in the Arab World (2022), and Civilizational Alternatives to Africa (2024).

Organizer of the annual international scientific conference "Prospects of destabilization processes in African countries" and executive editor (together with L.E. Grinin) of the collection of materials on the results of the conference. Participated in numerous national and international conferences on international development issues. He has repeatedly given interviews to Russian and foreign media on the issues of destabilization in the Middle East and Somalia.

In 2016, I completed an excellent-rated internship at the Office of International Cooperation of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation. Head of the Russian Science Foundation Grant Research Project No. 25-78-00147 «Prospects for the development of relations between Russia and key countries of the Persian Gulf in the context of the transformation of the struggle for regional leadership» in 2025-2027. Senior Researcher at the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University. Participant of grant science projects: 1. Russian Science Foundation № 19-18-00155 «Islamist extremism in the context of international security: threats to Russia and counteraction opportunities» in 2019-2023; 2. Russian Science Foundation № 25-18-00699 «Strategic Communication of BRICS in Global Governance» at the present time; 3. St. Petersburg State University «Ensuring Information and Psychological Security of Russia in the context of the development of Industry 4.0 and hybrid threats from outside collective West» at the present time.

Associate Professor of the Department of Oriental and African Studies at the RUDN University (teaches classes in the bachelor's and master's degree programs «Russia in the Middle East», «Zones of regional conflict», «Arab Spring: causes, dynamics, consequences»).

Senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (conducts classes in the bachelor's and master's degree programs «Political Science», «Political Systems of the East», «Asia-Pacific region as a new center of world politics and Economics»). I developed 2 new educational courses for the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation («Asia-Pacific region as a new center of world politics and economics», «Peculiarities of the political systems of the countries of the East»).

In 2024, I worked as an adviser on media relations in the Strategic Vision Group «Russia-Islamic World». Currently, I am an expert on the discussion platforms of the SVG «Russia-Islamic World». I speak English and Arabic.
