The monograph is devoted to the study of modern Islamism and its influence on the socio-political situation in the countries of the Arab world. The paper comprehensively considers the evolutionary development of Islamism in the 20th and 21st centuries. When studying domestic and foreign historiography of Islamism, the author gives a unique periodization with a logical justification for each of the stages. The formation and development of the conservative (Salafi), moderate and radical directions in Islamism are analyzed. Separately, post-Islamism is considered a modern form of Islamism. Moreover, the prospects for the deradicalization of Islamism are given in the example of specific deradicalization programs in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. One of the important conclusions of the monograph is the continued potential of Islamism as the dominant ideology in the region, as well as the ongoing transformational shifts in its structure.

The book is intended both for specialists in the field of history, political science, and employees of the Russian state apparatus, teachers, and university students, as well as for everyone interested in the Arab world and the influence of Islamist movements and Islamism in general on the situation in the region.
