SEMINAR "CIVILIZATIONAL TRANSIT OF THE MODERN WORLD: CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES"

On May 11, 2022, at noon, as part of the seminar of the Center for Civilizational and Regional Studies (CCRI) “Civilizational Transit of the Modern World: Conceptual Approaches”, a report was made by the head of the North-South Group of the Center for Civilizational and Regional Studies of the IAFR RAS, Chairman of the Commission on Socio-Cultural Problems of Globalization of the Scientific Council “History of World Culture" at the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Ivanovich Neklessa on the topic "Three Globes of the Ecumene: Empires, Sovereign Nations, Personal Sovereignty".

The report considers the step-by-step path of history - three generations/models of the globalization of the Oikoumene are analyzed: progress from the imperial colonization of the planet through decolonization and the worldwide unification of nations to a post-colonial nomadic society with an emphasis on personal sovereignty. The formation and subsequent transit of the world order of Modernity (the era of the Great Modern) to a new planetary ensemble of social and cultural interactions, today defined as Postmodernity, is comprehended.
