Attention is focused on the role of the water element in traditional culture, the influence of natural, climatic and anthropogenic factors on the quality and availability of water in cities and rural areas, on the possibilities of mitigating water shortages, and the formation of sanitary and hygienic living conditions for the population.

A special place is given to the activities of international and inland organizations for the joint use of transboundary rivers and lakes, as well as national and international action programs for the rational use of water resources of sub-Saharan Africa.
