The monograph presents the joint scientific work of scientists, united by research work on the basis of Leningrad State University. Alexander Pushkin and the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the project "Transformation of the global confessional geospace: the phenomenon of" parallel "societies in the system of international political relations" (2019-2021), supported by the Russian Science Foundation. The proximity of the authors' scientific interests made it possible to focus their collective efforts on a comprehensive study of a set of interconnected problems of the dynamics of modern confessional geospace, to analyze changes in state policy in relation to religious communities in a globalizing world.
The provisions and conclusions of the study are based on an extensive empirical base and are based on modern theoretical approaches in the sciences that study religion, culture and politics.
