2021 Presidential Election in Uganda

Presidential elections were held in Uganda on January 14, 2021. A candidate from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, the incumbent (since January 29, 1986) 76-year-old President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was elected the Head of the State for a sixth term, he received 58.6% (5,851,037) of the vote. In addition to Museveni, 10 candidates participated in the elections (4 from the opposition, 6 independent), but the main and, in fact, the only rival of the President was the 38-year-old candidate from the National Unity Platform (NUP) party Boby Wine (real name - Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu), who received 34.8% (3,475,298) of the votes.
