Actors in Contemporary African Politics
The role of various actors from different societal segments significantly influences various aspects of modern political, social, economic and cultural life of African societies. In addition to the major political parties and personalities (Big Man, chiefs, religious and other leaders) there are other cultural and socio-‐economic groups, customs, traditions and patterns of behavior which act on the real life of African societies. Without their analysis it is not possible to understand African political and social life.
