First meeting of the Scientific Council at the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Forum Partnership

November 18, 2020, the first meeting of the Scientific Council (SC) was held in the format of videoconference, created at the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Forum Partnership. The event was chaired by the Head of the SC, Director of the Institute for African Studies (RAS), member of the Presidium of the RAS, Corresponding Member of the RAS I.O. Abramova. It was attended by 12 out of 15 members of the Council.

During her speech, I.O. Abramova outlined the priorities of the SC, among which: scientific basis for Russian policy on the African continent, rendering assistance to economic operators, deepening and expanding the Russian-African scientific cooperation, development of educational interaction, popularization of the African continent and African studies.
