On October 2, 2018, a West African state Guinea celebrated its anniversary - the 60th anniversary of independence. The postcolonial development of the country was distinguished by almost permanent political instability. In addition, despite the abundance of natural resources (minerals - bauxite, iron ore, gold, diamonds, uranium, oil, etc., as well as fertile land, rivers and lakes), Guinea remains one of the most economically backward countries in Africa. The “socialist experiments” of the first president of the Republic, Ahmed Sekou Toure (1958–1984), led to an increase in poverty, which covered a significant part of the population; his rule was repressive and marked by severe suppression of dissent and numerous violations of human rights.
