The Institute for African Studies carries out its publishing activities by printing books, pamphlets and articles relevant to the problems of Africa, the Arab East, Russia and the CIS. There is the Editing and Publishing De­partment and a Printing shop in the Institute.

The Institute publishes its Proceedings, Transactions and such serial edi­tions as The Rebellions Ethnicity, Gender Studies, -New and Modern History of African Countries, Images of the World, Global and Strategic Studies, Readings in Commemoration of D.A. Olderogge.

Besides, the Institute issues a yearbook African Studies in Russia (in English), which comprises articles of noted Africanists, summaries of major researches published in Russia, as well as book reviews, surveys and accounts of academic activities.

The quarterly IAS Newsletter is published in Russian and English, giving the summary of the most important events on the academic life of the Insti­tute.

Jointly with the RAS Institute of Oriental Studies the IAS is a founder of the journals Vostok/Oriens and Aziya i Afrika Segodnya (Asia and Africa Today).
